Terms of Service

Effective date: July 19, 2026

Before launch: insert the legal business name, governing law, venue, and mailing address; select an arbitration or court-dispute approach; and obtain legal review.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern access to PlotSpindle, operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME]. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Refund Policy.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and promptly report unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require email verification or additional security checks.

3. Plans and Formatting Studio

Free, PlotSpindle AI, and PlotSpindle AI Pro plans have different project and AI-use limits. Formatting Studio is a separate recurring add-on and is not included unless your account shows an active formatting entitlement. Features and reasonable limits may change with advance notice when required.

4. Billing

Paid services renew until canceled. Prices, billing periods, taxes, and trial terms are shown at checkout. Stripe processes payments. You authorize recurring charges and must keep billing information current. Cancellation takes effect according to the Customer Portal terms shown at the time of cancellation.

5. Your content and ownership

As between you and PlotSpindle, you retain ownership of your manuscripts, project data, and instructions. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and format that content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the service.

6. AI outputs

AI output may be inaccurate, repetitive, incomplete, or similar to material generated for others. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, clearing rights, and determining whether output is suitable for publication. We do not guarantee copyrightability, originality, commercial success, or legal compliance.

7. Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy and all applicable laws. You may not infringe rights, compromise the service, evade limits, resell access without permission, or use PlotSpindle to create prohibited content.

8. Availability and changes

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Providers, models, features, limits, and export behavior may change. We may suspend service for maintenance, security, abuse, nonpayment, or legal reasons.

9. Termination

You may stop using PlotSpindle and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, or legal requirement. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLOTSPINDLE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify PlotSpindle against claims arising from your content, your publication or use of output, your violation of law or these Terms, or your infringement of another party’s rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], excluding conflict rules. Disputes will be resolved in [COURTS/ARBITRATION TERMS AND VENUE].
